Rape

To eliminate a problem we must look at its root. Stop trying to treat the symptoms and the cause of the problem.

Stop educating your daughters about rape; educate your sons.
Stop telling your daughter men can be rapists; tell your son he cant be one.
Stop worrying about your daughter getting raped; worry that your son might rape one.

The sooner we have that conversations with our sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers, the sooner we will stop worrying about our daughters, sisters, wives and mothers.

People

Complex. Multi-dimensional. Complicated. Difficult. Incomprehensible.

There are only so many ways to describe people. The point is, we as humans aren't easy. It takes time, effort, and a tonne of consideration to understand us. You never truly know people until you spend time with them, try to eat with them, work with them, make an attempt at sharing things with them, listen to them, really listen to them and give your best at understanding what they're saying. Or maybe, just maybe, live with them.

Having a good observation helps; so does being patient, calm, dedicated and, most of all, interested. However if you're a people's person, then Bingo! That's all you need, really. To be a people's person and care. Truly care about people and their sentiments. See that every action comes from a habit, which comes from a deep seethed part of a person's psychology and it is your own that will determine whether that action looks good or bad, right or wrong. Like I said, it takes time, effort and consideration.

Most of the times we like or dislike people for reasons that are too superficial. Reasons that are easy to see, because they're on the outside. We might not really know these people; but we like them anyway (or not). Our opinions supersede our obligations. For it is fairly easy to look at the obvious and ignore the ambiguous. Sooner or later, this lack of knowing affects your relationship in one way or the other. And then, our feelings supersede all rationale (or the lack of it).

See the problem is, we don't really know, so we don't really understand and so we don't really recognize. We're unable to distinguish affection from anger, guilt from glorification, hurt from hatred, failure from frustration and, most of all, indifference from emotion. We just.. overlook.

It isn't difficult to really get to know people. Sometimes all it takes is a step back from all that distracts you on the outside and take a look at the psyche that's behind the habit which is behind the action.

Saying Hi.

“What do you do?”

“I'm a writer.”

That’s always an easy conversation. Until they ask me what I write about.

I've mostly written about myself, my people, my opinions, my thoughts. In a hidden away secret blog, I've always documented my life, my book, my stories.

My stories. Those are the most interesting to write. Everything is a daily life incident, until it’s documented. Written with passion, anything is worth being written about. I love writing. Most of all, I love writing my stories.

I'm going to make an attempt at a public blog this time. It can’t be that bad to tell people who you really are. Sooner or later, they figure it out anyway.

So, Hello! I'm a cat.
